Introduction
Brewing is something new to Runescape that lets you make different types of beers and beverages that give special stats bonuses. Brewing is part of the Cooking Skill and gives Cooking experience.
Breweries
There are two breweries were you can make different types of beverages. The first is in the city of Keldagrim , which you can get to by entering a cave northeast of the Fremenik Province. The second brewery is in Port Phasmatys, which is east of Canifis in Morytania. You will need ectotokens to enter Port Phasmatys if you have not completed the Ghosts Ahoy quest.
Port Phasmatys, go down the ladder that is behind the bar.
Keldagrim, go up the stairs north of the bar, on the east side of the city.

Brewing the Ales
Now that you know what you are going to make, bring the materials needed to either brewery and talk to either Blasidar of Keldagrim or Matarialus of Port Phasmatys (requires Amulet of ghostspeak).
Keldagrim Brewery
Port Phasmatys Brewery
Instructions:
- Buy a pot of yeast from them for either 5 Ecto-Tokens or 25gp.
- Next, use the bucket of water on the vat to fill it, then add the barley malt to the vat.
- After that add the main ingredient (see above table) and finish by adding the ale yeast. It will turn into a mature ale, which is even stronger than a normal ale.
- After its fermented, you can fill up your beer glasses by turning the valve. You can take a Calquat fruit and use a knife with it to make a keg that can hold 4 pints of ale instead of a beer glass.
To brew cider you must first get apple mush. Put four apples into the apple barrel and it will turn into apple mush. Use a bucket to transfer 4 apple mush into the vat then continue the same way as you would with the ale.
Brewing Mature Ales
After about 24 hours, your ale has a chance of turning out bad, normal or mature. The odds of this happening are influenced by your cooking level and the level of the ale you are brewing.Leaving the ale in longer after it is done brewing will not make it go bad or mature. It will continue to sit until you empty the barrel.
Good luck and Happy Brewing! |
